Yogiños: Yoga for Youth® Adult Training

Founded by Elizabeth Reese, PhD, E-RYT, RCYT, the Yogiños: Yoga for Youth® Registered Children's Yoga School weaves theory and practice to provide a strong yet playful foundation with which to bring fitness and wellness of body, mind and heart to youth and families from a variety of abilities and backgrounds. As an official Registered Children's Yoga School with Yoga Alliance, the trainings you take with us can be applied toward the 95-hour Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT) credential. You also can take one weekend module to earn a certificate to become a Kids Yoga Instructor.

We have created 5 distinct training modules that can be taken in any order but one at a time so you can customize your training experiences. Taking 4 of the 5 training modules equals the 95-hours required for RCYT status. We recommend starting with Module 1 as some of the content is sequential, but you may start with any of the 5 modules. Please note you must be working toward or already be a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) to receive the official RCYT status.

Our 5 Distinct Modules:

Module 1:
Introduction to Yogiños: Yoga for Youth®

Module 2: Yoga for Youth with Special Needs & Different Abilities

Module 3: The Yoga of Art, Music and Dance

Module 4: Yoga in Schools: Mindfulness and Movement
Across the Curriculum

Module 5: Yoga for Tweens & Teens

Why kids yoga?
Current brain, academic and cardiovascular research provide scientific evidence that practices related specifically to yoga and breathing techniques offer:

~ 27% increase in GABA levels (calmness, anti-anxiety) which is critical as stressed brains literally do not functiona s well;

~ Improved academic achievement through learning how to improve focus and handle stress;

~ Increased academic interest as a result of providing integrated movement in traditionally sedentary, academic settings;

~ Interactive experiences with team-building, cooperation and tolerance.
