Beth's Weekly Youth and Adult Teaching Schedule:

 

YOUTH:
Summer 2013 will be a busy one for Beth! She will teach her adult classes as listed below, as well as various classes for youth at the evelyn rubenstein jewish community center of houston, West University Place Recreation Center, and The Houstonian Club.

 

ADULTS:
Tuesdays & Thursdays, SLOW FLOW, 9am-10:15am: Yoga Institute, Houston, TX

A slow and yet powerful flow practice; combining all categories of poses with all the modifications, progressions and transitions to make each pose available to each individual. This is a heart-centered practice designed to cultivate awareness and alignment of body, mind and heart through mindful breath, movement and stillness. This Slow Flow practice is sure to inspire and challenge you whether you've just had the basics or you've been practicing yoga for a long time.


Thursdays, YIN YOGA, 7:10pm-8:10pm: The Houstonian Club
Soak up the mindful stillness of Yin Yoga that focuses on the health of our joints and intricate layers of connective tissue. Holding mostly sitting poses for extended periods, from 2 to 5 minutes, we transform our joint fluids and connective tissue from static to dynamic, or something like from dried pasta to cooked pasta. Beginner-friendly, especially beneficial to runners, swimmers and anyone with tight hips and hamstrings.


Saturdays, April 20-May 25, 11am-12noon: Slow Flow: The Art of Yoga with Beth Reese
A slow and yet powerful flow practice admist incredible art and architecture; combining all categories of poses with all the modifications, progressions and transitions to make each pose available to each individual.  This is a heart-centered practice designed to cultivate awareness and alignment of body, mind and heart through mindful breath, movement and stillness. Elizabeth "Beth" Reese, Ph.D., E-RYT, RCYT, is the founder and executive director of Yogiños: Yoga for Youth®. Beth is a teacher with over 20 years of experience with preK-12 grades in art, windsurfing, skiing, and yoga. She is also a researcher and published writer. Beth has a PhD in art museum education and has taught art history, art museum education and museum studies at the University-level.

A yoga practitioner for over 10 years, Reese explores Iyengar, Hatha, Hot, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Anusara, power yoga, Jivamukti and Yin Yoga. Beth completed an Anusara Immersion and teacher training with Christina Sell in 2009 and currently is working toward Anusara Inspired Certification. Beth is RYT-200 and a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT). She has taken classes and workshops with "Richard from Texas," David Belz, Sharon Gannon, Paul Grilley, Jules Febre, John Friend, Manorama, Judith Hanson Lasater, David Life, Sarah Powers, Saul David Raye, Desiree Rumbaugh, Sianna Sherman and Doug Swenson. Beth is the mother of three OHMazing® yogis under the age of 13.
